Default Ticking/Pinging?

I've read all the post regarding this noise but where mine is different is in neutral, you hear nothing. I can rev it all I want. Not put it in gear and starting driving, I hear the noise. The noise goes away after a minute or two and all is good???????? Oh, my other 08 did the exact same thing?

If the noise goes away, its probably piston slap.

Why wouldn't it slap in neutral reving it up? It sounds like the fuel tank area or tranny area.

Because when its in gear it loads the engine, verses freewheeling the crank uncoupled.
