bass22...wow, you certainly made a compelling argument supporting McCain and telling us why Obama is no good. I don't consider myself a staunch Democrat or Republican, I vote for who I feel is the best candidate at the time. The world and US economies are on the verge of a collapse. The first step the US needs to take is to get the hell out of the Middle East. That, among other things, is sending oil prices through the roof which in turn is hammering the world (and US) economy. For more than a century, the US has been involved, almost continuously, in some type of war (WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Cold War, Gulf Wars, etc.). The Cuban Missile Crisis, The Cold War both resulted in nothing other than the ONE TRILLION DOLLAR star wars program. The estimates of the cost of the current war is ONE TRILLION DOLLARS and rising every day. President Eisenhower warned us all 47 years ago about the Military-Industrial Complex (http://coursesa.matrix.msu.edu/~hst3...ts/indust.html). Wars are fought for one reason...MONEY. We're all focused on Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. NEWS FLASH... N Korea has flat out admitted they have nuclear weapons. Why aren't we making the same demands with them as we are with Iran? Oil, that's why. There's nothing in N Korea we want.

I could keep going, but in the interest of cramping fingers, I'm done. I'm not trying to be an ass, only sharing my opinion.

Actually, a few things send oil prices up. The biggest is the 'futures' market. A hurricane comes through...oil prices go up, and stay up. Once the futures market 'predicts' and slight chance something can affect oil, the prices jump, even if it's based in total whacko bullshit.

The second thing that drives oil prices up are people will pay what they charge...because you can not survive without gas.

The third thing that brings oil prices up is we limit ourselves to be dependant on third world countries for the oil. That's plain stupidity. Thanks to the EPA and the other tree hugging faggots, and that includes ol'peanut boy jimmy carter and his billy beer drinking family.

I strongly disagree on the point about the middle east, we do not need to 'get the hell out of there', because like it or not, they want to kill anyone they can and call it 'religion of peace' justification. That includes your daughter who might wear a bikini and kiss a boy on the beach or your brother who sleeps with his girlfriend (or you for that matter). Trust me, they are more wahcked out than you realize and it's not something that will 'go away' if you bring the boys home and ignore it. We have a moral obligation to protect the country against them and to protect the ones who are getting in the firing lane because of where they live.

No, we are not world cops but we are the only ones who are capable of helping others, that's worth it to me.

Oh...and before you even go there, YES, I did serve over seas in the Gulf War. In fact, my sister lived in Kuwait when it was invaded and I personally know innocent little girls who were raped and murdered by Saddam's troops.

If we were not over there, the terrorists would be blowing up our people over here. They are evil and we can not let them rule, because THAT is what they want to do. They want YOU to submit to them in every way.

Personally, IMO: Obama- he's a fucking idiot. His wife is a fucking idiot and he can't get a damn thing right to save his life. I do not want that piece of shit running my country. McCain is a dream team champ compared to that idiot.

Couldn't have said it better myself!!!!

And Butch... what message would that send if we up and leave???? That we can't finish something we started..Thats all that would accomplish. You should be glad that we are fighting, otherwise we wouldn't have the freedoms that we do.

And War is what gives us the right to be able to post up what we FREELY want to say without getting our freaking arm sawed off.... We need to get the media the fuck out of there, finish the war, and then bring back all their oil for us...lol!!!!

I'm not condemning McCain or praising Obama. Neither of them are stellar candidates. For me, the the biggest issue in the upcoming election is the war. It needs to end, hence my vote for Obama. Does McCain have some better ideas than Obama on key issues, like the economy, health care, education, etc...of course. I agree that extremists in the middle east are dangerous, but that doesn't include the majority of the people. I've been to Kuwait and UAE and while they all look like terrorists (a depiction pounded into our psyche every day by the media) the people that I met were all very nice. I believe in our military and support them. While I have not served, I've had immediate and distant family members and friends in all branches. My issue is the way our gov't uses (abuses) the military. Do we need to defend ourselves? Absolutely. But waging war (pre-emptive) to avoid a war is simply ignorant, if not corrupt. The only thing that does is to guarantee war. I believe in a defensive minded military. Build our defenses here in the US. Take some of the money being spent on the war and invest it here. Why do you think the US is over 9 TRILLION DOLLARS in debt? We worry a little too much about things outside this country and not enough about things inside our country.

Anyways fellas, I like a good, civil debate, but unfortunately we'll just have to agree to disagree. Whoever becomes the next President will have to earn my support, be it Obama or McCain. Our country needs a big shift in direction. I only hope the 44th President is capable.

This may sound odd...but there would be one good outcome of Obama getting elected, Jesse the reverend Jaa--acksonnnn would be sent to has-been hell, since he would have no 'black powa' over a 'black man' as the president. That guy makes me want to puke...biggest piece of shakedown extortionist racist shit in the history of the US.

What about illegal aliens getting free benefits while we pay out the ass for them?? That is a HUGE issue for me. Anyways..

I agree that we can not just remove our troops and bring them home, that would make things even worse for all of us. Then we would be looked upon as failures, that we can not accomplish nor follow through with what we had set out and promised to do.

As far as oil prices go, our country is run by a bunch of money grubbing idiots.. How about this.. We are being charged how much for a barrel of oil?? Well over a hundred per barrel right? In return, we are selling grain or wheat to them for a CONSIDERABLE amount less, something like 7 dollars a bushel. What if we were to sell them their grain or wheat for over a hundred a bushel just as they do with our oil??

What angers me, is how ignorant our own people are. I spent 2 years stationed in Italy and I'd be lying if I said that there weren't times that I truly disliked Americans because of what we take for granted, and the things that we do to one another for the mighty dollar.

I have an apartment in a "higher class" area in NJ. I walked into a Walmart right quick to grab some Kitty litter on the way home from drill and I have to say... I'm not sure I ever want to go back there again. I've NEVER felt sooo...Disgusted because of the dirty looks that I recieved while in my uniform. People looked at me like I was some sort of thief. Anyways...I DO think that Obama would end up JFK Part Deuce, I also don't think that we are ready for a female president, at least not Hillary...

As you probably already know, Jesse is in the doghouse with some of his people. First he wanted to cut Obama's balls off, then used the n word while talking about Obama's speech to I think it was the NCAA convention goers. Press made very little noise about this, but were all over Don Imus a couple of years ago.

Default Obama ...need I say more

Just read this about money his staff makes today. Like he really needs these guys.

First rule of Obama transparency: If it's a holiday, it's time for a White House document dump. Over the Independence Day weekend, the administration released its 2011 annual report to Congress on White House staff salaries. While economic data for the rest of America remains bleak, the financial outlook for Obama flacks looks rosier than the president's complexion after his latest round of golf.

In total, President Obama's 454 employees at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. will rake in $37 million. That's up $4 million from the income of George W. Bush's staff in 2008, back when the unemployment rate was three points lower, the federal government workforce was 12 percent smaller and the massive deficit was still measured in hundreds of billions, not trillions. One in three of Obama's employees makes more than $100,000 a year.

Of particular interest to me are the high-paid Obama aides assigned to the apparently vital task of "engagement" -- that is, politicking, pandering and partisan cajoling -- on the taxpayers' dime.

I found at least 17 staffers listed in the report with titles referencing the "Office of Public Engagement" (OPE) or "online engagement" (otherwise known as liberal blog hand-holding and crisis management). These "engagers" are among the top earners in the White House. Fourteen of the 17 earn $50,000 or more. Chicago crony Valerie Jarrett, the White House senior adviser who oversees OPE, receives a salary of $172,200 a year. Michael Strautmanis, deputy assistant to the president and counselor to the senior adviser for strategic engagement, earns $150,000. Nathanael Tamarin, a special assistant to the president for public engagement, makes $96,900 a year.

The director of OPE, Jon Carson, pulls in $153,000 annually. Carson's deputy, Brian Bond, boasts a $93,840 yearly salary. OPE deputy directors Greg Nelson and Anne Filipic earn $92,000.

What, exactly, are all these minions paid to do? OPE describes itself as "allow(ing) the views of the ordinary American citizen to be more readily heard within the administration" and coordinating "events that bring members of the administration in contact with members of the public."

In reality, it's another publicly subsidized Obama spin operation by a different name.

The murky office of public engagement was refashioned by Jarrett from the former Office of Public Liaison to do things like push the costly failed 2016 Olympics bid by her old friend and employer former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.

It's also the office that was entangled in the rabidly partisan effort to push the progressive agenda through the taxpayer-supported National Endowment of the Arts. As I've noted before, conservative film producer and BigHollywood.com contributor Patrick Courrielche first blew the whistle in 2009 when the NEA and OPE gathered 75 artists, musicians, writers and poets on a conference call to exhort them to create propaganda art supporting Obama's domestic policy agenda. The engagement operatives plied "counter-narratives" to the arts community to combat GOP health care critics and anti-illegal alien amnesty activists.

Actor Kalpen Modi, an "associate director of public engagement," has been dispatched to various "youth roundtables" and Soros confabs on Obama's behalf.

More recently, the well-compensated "engagers" have been busy organizing town hall cheerleading sections for Obama across the country and online to bolster his base, galvanize "community leaders" and appease the commander in chief's left flank. On Wednesday, in an effort to "double down" on their "online engagement efforts," as an administration aide told The New York Times, Obama will participate in a "Twitter Town Hall."

As always, however, this administration's problem is that it hears but doesn't listen. It makes lavishly funded gestures toward engagement while remaining divorced from economic and political reality. The core failure of Team Obama is not a failure to communicate, but a failure to comprehend.
