My turbo setup (still evolving)
Filenames on pics are explain what you're looking at.. But its pretty much placing the Y pipe on the driver's side.... Angled pipe->T4 flange that bolts onto a bracket welded onto a bar thats bolted (although welded onto one stock bolted part) to stock parts/locations (yet structurally sound)... Aforementioned Y-T4 branches off for wastegate duty (which is a short angle cut dump pipe).. Oil lines run amuck.. .3psi check valve on return line (awesome).. obviously a stronger check valve on feed...
Turbo downpipe is 4 inches.. V band on both ends (swappable for when I eventually connect to full 4 inch).. Filter is 5 inches.. Stuff that looks like its wrapped in something from nasa are oil lines (heat wrap).. You can see that the gas tank and brake related parts are shielded.. Stock gas tank shield has been bent to accomodate.. and no the black filler stuff is not a patch up on a nick'd gas tank.. its just to make sure stuff didn't rattle around..
Black hose zipped tied to 'turbo mounting bar' is wastegate ref..
Just got done wrapping the pre-Y/post header primary pipes.. Then just got done taking fiberglass out of my eyes.. First time wrapping pipes.. ouch. The turbo has a stylish jacket going on it soon.. Trying to ensure optimal conditions, given the location of parts/pipes/turbo, for the turbo to spool.. Wish I had 4 EGT gauges on hand so I could actually verify the benefit of all this wrapping hoodoo.. but whatever..

Looks good, is your downpipe going all the way out the back or does it dump around the axle? Did you fab this all?

It mates to part of a SW catback.. so it ramps down to 3.5 inches. Eventually I'll switch to full 4 inch.. but not many places can mandrel bend 4 inch stainless.. The idea came from necessity (larger turbo) and observing the short comings of the sts setup on a 2WD.. this is barely a STS setup.. it would've been cheaper to build from scratch.. but harder without a frame of reference.. So things just sort of frankenstein'd themselves together.. With this new turbo being one of the bigger changes..
Mostly everything from this rennovation was purchased from racepartsolutions - everything welded up next door to them at KMW.. I don't do welding.. I probably wouldn't have eyelids if I had welding equipment. Its pretty awesome having RacePartSolutions around the corner from you.. and a kick ass shop next door to them.. (Boca Raton, FL)
I don't have a CNC machine, so I can't exactly fab much... I plan on getting a mini cnc machine soon tho!

Clean set up, nicely done. Care to take a few photo's as to how the sts front mount is mounted. Would like an idea as to where people are putting these front mounts. I'm thinking about just cutting up my bumper support and reworking the front end a bit to fit somthing worth while in once I go turbo.

Very nice Eddie!
You have been working on yours for a good time too. You going to hit a dyno? Still a bit off from track times.

When's this beast gonna be back north? I need to keep the misses primed for a Turbo LS vehicle that I foresee being right around the corner, and she loved the sound of this setup right after the TSP LS3 went in!

I like the mount to hold the turbo up.
Do you have a pic from farther away to see how all the piping is ran?

It would be nice if STS did some of this out of the box.
