My turbo setup (still evolving)
Filenames on pics are explain what you're looking at.. But its pretty much placing the Y pipe on the driver's side.... Angled pipe->T4 flange that bolts onto a bracket welded onto a bar thats bolted (although welded onto one stock bolted part) to stock parts/locations (yet structurally sound)... Aforementioned Y-T4 branches off for wastegate duty (which is a short angle cut dump pipe).. Oil lines run amuck.. .3psi check valve on return line (awesome).. obviously a stronger check valve on feed...
Turbo downpipe is 4 inches.. V band on both ends (swappable for when I eventually connect to full 4 inch).. Filter is 5 inches.. Stuff that looks like its wrapped in something from nasa are oil lines (heat wrap).. You can see that the gas tank and brake related parts are shielded.. Stock gas tank shield has been bent to accomodate.. and no the black filler stuff is not a patch up on a nick'd gas tank.. its just to make sure stuff didn't rattle around..
Black hose zipped tied to 'turbo mounting bar' is wastegate ref..
Just got done wrapping the pre-Y/post header primary pipes.. Then just got done taking fiberglass out of my eyes.. First time wrapping pipes.. ouch. The turbo has a stylish jacket going on it soon.. Trying to ensure optimal conditions, given the location of parts/pipes/turbo, for the turbo to spool.. Wish I had 4 EGT gauges on hand so I could actually verify the benefit of all this wrapping hoodoo.. but whatever..
