Cam and 1900 progress
Just got the cam in this weekend and the blower is bolted down just have to get the intercooler mounted and piped together. Then it's on to the tranny cooler, servos and pillar gauges and she'll be on the trailer down to the dyno. I can't wait!

If you can get your hands on one, check out doing the C6 oil pan, and perhaps rod bolts. I'm stock bottom end pushing 8-9 psi with just rod bolts. If you do, go Katech and not ARP. Something about the ARPs is goofy on their rod bolts for our truck. I look forward to your numbers, good luck!

Care to elaborate? I am doing the ARP2000's for my Callies H-beams.
Also, I'm going Rat pan, but what are differences between C6 and Rat pan?

C6 won't work for you, only the 2wd guys.

Found it finally, they aren't just a bolt in and go job. Some guy got them to work, but the consensus is they require some machining. I went with Katech because everyone here had good luck with them and less hassle.
And here's another post I think is worth a look.
"This is a very contraversial subject and there are varying opinions. The ARP's ARE bigger AND heavier than stock. Katech 's are NEARLY identical in size znd weight and I BELIEVE desingned to be a direct drop in. Even ARP says on their instalation literature that you are SUPPOSED to get your rods resized with their bolts I would assume from different clamping pressure.
The reality is I think it is a crapshoot. Some guys on here have done countless 7k passes on ARP's no problem and some have trashed their motors within a few thousand miles. If it were a rebuild I would save the $$ and go ARP everytime but just swapping them out one at a time on a stock bottom I would go Katech and pay the $100 of insurance."

Ok cool! I can't check that post from work, but will tonight.
I'm converting to 2wd if all goes as planned... still need to figure that all out.

No sweat, it seems like a mixed bag of results on there, but at the end of the day, I wanted the easier, less-likely-for-me-to-blow-up-my-engine bolts. Then Luis did them for me when I got rear-ended, lol. Seems like many of the ARP guys had good results, so I'm willing to bet yours will be fine. You assembling it yourself?

oh wow. Ok cool. Well I think mine came with bolts from Callies, but I could be wrong. Pretty sure they did though. My builder has put together many LS motors, and I'll be assembling with him... mostly learning as he does it I think. His name will be on the build, so he wants to make sure everything is done correctly
Thanks for the info!!

with ARP 2000 bolts which is like way overkill for what you and for that matter I need. Now don't get me wrong I am a fan of overkill but I really really mean way way way overkill. Please don't spend any more money on bolts you are good where you are at.
