I just bought an 08 ss i have a programmer from my 07 after i installed my knn intake and electric fans i tried progam and it says e43 not factory programming so i cant program it???? i have a superchip programmer i was planning to sell and buy hp tuner so i guess my ? is can i use the hp tuner if i sell my superchip or is it going to be locked out too???? if so who in vegas can hook me up with program back to factory so I can program???? I do have almost every computer for programming but there all european ones lol ferrari porsche mercededs bmw bentley............... nothing for american

That most likely means it has a tune it now. It knows its not stock, and doesnt want to overlay one tune on another. You should be able to download a stock tune file from HPTuners forum. If not, Im sure someone here would be willing to post one for you. You can try to PM Matt, LT1Z. He does allot of programming, should be no problem for him to post a stock file. I only have an 06, or Id give ya one. you will need HPTuners or another software to program it though. Just hope its not a LOCKED tune, like Vector does. If it is, your screwed, and you need to pay money to have the ECM unlocked, or buy a new ECM, whichever is cheaper.

07 and 08 do not use the same OS or tune. I can supply a stock 08 tune for you in HPT format if you would like.

that would be awesome if you could send me the stock program for an 08. im sure the programming is different then 07 main reason is no stupid electric fan clutch on 08 lol ill order an hp tuner tonight unless you guys know a spot to buy it cheaper then ebays 500.? thanks again for all your help

HPT has a Strict MAP Pricing. It will run $500 (Standard) and $650 (Pro) no matter where you buy it unless you get it used from somebody. Try searching LS1 tech and other forums you may be able to find one in the $300 range.

I would sell the superchips and use the tune thats in it already, its probably better than the superchips tune.

Actually much more then that going on inside. Fan settings are just a small part of it.

Yes, they have said that a while ago, but its not the case now. They won't unlock the one I have unless they return it to stock. I talked to them on the phone for like 45mins. and they won't do it. They said the only way to get an unlocked tune is if its a dyno tune done there. It's pretty sad imo. That's why I don't run there tune anymore. Their modules are just collecting dust.

so are we sure i can program back to stock with hp tuner? because i was told by a guy here I can not he tried and it didnt work?? idk he isnt a pro but he does have hpt. i just dont want to spend 500. and still need to bring it someplace to have put back to stock.

That sounds locked to me. I think Alvin at PCM does unlocking.

Good to know about the Vector stuff. Is that their dyno tunes only, or the street ones too!

If you get HPT, get the pro if your goona get a wideband with logging capability. Especially if your goona get into tuning yourself, its a must have then.

I don't know about their street tunes. I drove there twice in 2007 and they couldn't get the tune right. Kirk said he would work with me on it when I got Hptuners. He is no longer there.
