Default Slipping between gears

The first to second gear shift thumps pretty good and the second to third slips. What would cause this? Bands slipping, burnt clutches?

It's still drivable but I cringe when it shifts bc I'm afraid it's hurting it worse.

Please help. I'm going to take it by a trans shop in the morning and don't wanna go in blind

Not sure but it could be one of those or one of many other things. Maybe one of the Tranny guys will chime in soon. Hope you get it fixed soon. May be time for a 4L80?

Could be a cracked accumulator piston... That's exactly what mine was doing (the 1-2 shift). Super common and pretty easy to replace. Either buy an OE one or do the smart thing and get the billet one in the Sonnax Stage II kit..

Cracked accumulator piston, will cause a ruff or slip bang shift, not just a slip.

Does it rev up bad before it shifts?

I have a FLT and love it, have tons of track passes on it and hasn't missed a beat. Maintenance and tune have a lot to play with trans survival.
