I am with you on the cam specs. Just didn't know the desired end state at first. My 416 cam was a 247/255 .622/.622 112+2 I think. All the power was in by 6,000. But I am partial to smaller cams now for heavier stuff. I was only pushing a 3,400lb Z06. Just surprised me how much low end I had even with what I would consider a large cam for the cubes. This thing is going to rock.

Not real worried about the exhaust port
as well. Just wanted to get some input as to what if any difference it might make. Since I have not done any research on it wanted to find out what it might do for my setup. Was not going to go out of my way to change anything as I am pretty comfortable with what I have. More worried about the things I want to do on my list of next steps. I know I need those so that is what the focus will be. It has been hard to be disciplined with this build and really have not been as disciplined as I wanted to be. Did not need to build the heads anywhere near the spec they are at. Prob could have just gone with one oil problem solution instead of 2. Could have gone with 4 bolt heads instead of 6 bolts as well as just ls7 lifters or the comps I already own. All of this has been an experience I will tell you. Really really want to just drive my truck. It is getting old making payments for the last year and not driving it. Keep wanting to do this and that and have to remind myself that I need to stay focused on my goals. I am very lucky to have a lot of really great people involved in this like Romito Racing Engines and Bolt on Speed. With people who treat your stuff like their stuff it should really turn out nice.

I believe you will be happy with the build for how it performs in a tbss. Won't top end hp like a vette build but tq will come in early and carry.

Just wanted to give you a small heads up.
The Kooks headers only have interference on the passenger side six bolt head boss. With a small amount of milling on two of the six bolt bosses the headers don't need to be changed and the heads are unharmed. ARH have a huge problem and hit in about six places.
Just some reference for you.

Yeah sorry there has not been a lot
of updates but pretty much have been waiting on the motor. Right now if I get it this week it looks tight for nats. We have a lot of work to do before this thing is ready. Still have the following going on:
- send out the trans for upgrade
- Figure out AC bracket
- Figure out headers
- Get motor into the truck
- Get gauges figured out
- Finish getting the remiander of the motor out
- Coil brackets
- Accusump at some point
- Brackets for accusump
- Debating on throttle body
- CAI fabrication
I am sure there is more I am missing. As you can see it is a lot of work remaining which makes me think unless we can pull a rabbit out the hat I may not make it to nats. Just have to see what happens.

Should have the short

Just to be like Tony I used the title :) Kooks headers,
will fit no problem on the drivers side and two bosses from the heads hit on the pass side. Mine are in after some work... Just one primary tube needs to be moved or adjusted...
ARH are not so lucky! The need work on both sides to fit!
GET THAT THING DONE!
