Aeroforce Wideband Hookup to HPTuners Standard?
Just seeing if anyone had a writeup on connecting the aeroforce wideband and getting it to read on HPTuners standard. I've read a few things on using an LM1 or something similar and hooking into egr or a/c pressure to get it to read, but can you do the same with the aeroforce setup? Would really like to use what I have without buying another WB. Would also be handy if I could easily swap between TBSS and GTO with the whole wideband setup.
Sorry if this has been covered before, but searched and couldn't find much on the aeroforce setup. And I'm pretty new to the whole tuning deal trying to learn.

Do you have HPT or HPT pro? Does your wideband have a dedicated 0-5v out, or are you using it through hooking it up via a 0-5v sensor? More info needed.
If you have HPT pro and you have a 2nd output 0-5 for data logging, just hook it up to the green port on the side under aux 1. Then set up a histogram for it in HPT using the correct filter string for your AFR gauge.
If you dont have HPT pro but have the 2nd output, you use one of the factory sensors that accept a 0-5v input. Then you log that sensor in HPT and set up a histogram that converters that voltage to AFR.
If you have HPT pro but no 2nd ouput. Others have split the 0-5v output and tied to the green connector at aux input 1. But then you have to get creative and make your own filter string to correct for resistances and voltage offsets.
Either way, it can be done.

I am wondering the same....if the Aeroforce (or dual Aeroforce) is plugged into the OBDII port, how do you read the wide band? Do you un plug the Aeroforce from the ODBII port, and just use the analog wideband ports, and plug HPT into the ODBII, or can you use HPT and the Aeroforce gauges simultaneously by using a double port plug?

Not sure about the dual port plug, but there was a post on HPT about that. But you should be able to tap off the 0-5v output of the wideband directly to HPT even if you cant use em both at the same time.

I have HPTuners standard.
I'm not sure how exactly the wideband works. The sensor plugs into a little black controller box, that has to be hooked up to power. Then one wire goes out to the aeroforce gauge. I'm assuming that is the only wire hookup and it carries the 0-5V.
What I'm thinking is I need to split off the 0-5v and buy a toggle switch and tap into the a/c pressure switch. Then I can switch between a/c or wideband for when I'm tuning. Anybody know where exactly this connector is and the color of the wires I need to tap into on the TBSS?
I don't know if you can use the aeroforce while logging/tuning with a dual port, but don't think I would bother as it may just create interference in the readings.
Btw, if anyone is interested, here is the link to the install on the aeroforce wb setup: http://www.aeroforcetech.com/files/A...structions.pdf

I would recommend upgrading to a pro interface and just hooking it up to the 0-5v wire and ground.
While it is possible to do it other ways you will end up with pro anyway so might as well save the trouble.

Not really interested in paying another ~$300 for pro just to tune my own vehicle. If I was doing it as a "pro" then absolutely.

I did this with my a/c switch but i was never able to get accurate results. for example i would get it dead on at idle "the bet way to tell is to take a picture of the computer screen and your afr box" that way you know at that exact point in time they are both the same. but once i got up in the rpm range i would have wide variances from my afr box and what my computer was saying. i would then get it good in the upper rpm range but then it was off at idle. i gave up trying to use the ac switch.
also if you do this make sure your ac is off. i have read where guys on the vett forum left there ac on and it some how over pressurized. so be safer than sorry and keep ac off.

interesting. Thanks for the input. Quick question, were you grounded to the body or the #5 pin on the OBD port? I've read you may have fluctuations if you just body ground.

I was actually using a NGK wideband, and my instructions said that the grown and power needed to be the same length and both grounded to the battery for the most accurate results. so that is what i did

So does anyone know which color wire going into a/c pressure sensor I need to tap? Or should I just put a volt meter on it with the a/c running and see which one matches up with what HPT is showing?
