Where do I go next??
Just finished the basic stuff (K&N, NGK TR6's, 8.5 MSD wires, Optima battery and Flomaster exhaust. What do I do next? I am picking up a 160 thermostat tomorrow although I'm hesitant since I live in the Chicago area. I don't want to drop a $1000 on my next upgrade. I'd like to do something mild yet beneficial. Any ideas guys/gals?

If you are doing the thermostat I'd also do efans while you are at it. Those two mods go together like porn and lotion.

Hit up pcmforless for the wiring harnes and to ask them any questions you might have.

I just ordered the 160 tonight. I don't have enough right now to do the fans and SLP says I don't need a tune to make the stat work ok without throwing codes. I also bought new battery cables to fix the dimming headlight problem. Need to get my electrical system sound before adding to it and I need to save a few more bucks before the efans can get ordered.

I've heard that but I tow with my truck every weekend and sometimes I pull a 4500lb boat. I heard also that the stall screws up the towing abilities. Any experience with towing after getting a stall?

Well, its an 18ft Nitro Z7 with a 150hp motor and the trailer is pretty beefy too. My dad said it was around 4500lbs but I'm going to look into it now that you said something cause that does sound heavy. All I know is that I felt it back there. lol.

Has it been tuned for the CAI and exhaust. If not, then do that before the fans. If the funds are there for a stall or sonnax shift kit, thats next. Tune can be worth .3-.4 if you havent done it, more if your truck was slowed down by the bolt ons. Stall in an AWD is .6 at least, a little less for 2WD. G/L with the mods!

Dorman E-fans from any auto parts store for a Camaro/Trans Am and the PCM4Less harness are all you need.
And bang-for-the-buck as far as fun in driving the truck and overall performance improvement, a torque converter is definitely the way to go. And don't let anyone tell you you can't tow with a higher stall speed converter

Talk to huronspeed or Dave at yank they can get you a converter that you can still tow with. Just make sure you get a transcooler.

Trans cooler is a must for towing with a yank, I assumed that much. Today my RPM's went right through the red on the way onto the highway (2nd gear). Scared me a bit, pooped a little, but I couldn't get it to repeat itself so I don't know what to think. Def don't want to blow the coin on a stall when my tranny might be acting like a shit-stain in brown undies.

Someone had a used Yank on here for $600 if that is in the budget. I know you didnt want to spend a $1000, but that will make the biggest bang for buck. Especially over the e-fans.
