dremel, or a hot knife... (kind of like a soldering iron, but with a knife blade on the end)

I use a angle grinder with a cut off wheel and dress it with a flap wheel. It looks OEM when I'm done.

Alvin do you have a pic of a finished product?
I've got an idea for reshaping my engine cover that I'm thinking would look real nice!

i used a dremel with plastic cut off disc and then used the sanding wheel to get it very close then and then used 100 grit sandpaper to get it to look like stock!
i have the lsxrt intake manifold on mine and dont have a use for my engine cover that was cut for the big pcmforless fwi so if you want it you can have it or whatever.

Willing to ship engine cover? I just ordered a 4" intake and have been kinda stressing on how I am going to cut mine. I will pay good $ for it!

I trimmed mine, and it looks like factory... I make prosthetics, and plastic braces (AKA orthotics) and I used a cast cutter to cut mine and buffed it with the one sanding machine we have called a trautman.... It looks really good!
I'd be willing to do it free of charge as long as u pay shipping...
