Default pwm frequency??

i just installed my new spal fans and was tweaking the fan settings and noticed the pwm frequency wasnt set to 128 for the "discrete fan" type... its still set at 2. do i need to change that? if so would my fans run any different? it would be bad ass if yall say it they will run better. houston heat SUUUCCKS!!!

also i have the pcmforless fan harness if it matters

Are you running hot with the Spals, if so how hot? I live in Phx and I believe it gets a little hotter here and im putting them in the week after next, so i'm curious. Thanks.

Well I have yet to have a good day to test them. This whole week its been 100+ until I put my fans on then its been 91... but testing them at 91 it cruises cooler(with the 1.5" rd radiator) and idling after a long drive It will go from 192 cruising to 205 idling for a while. Then it actually starts cooling itself off to around 201 and just sit there (which never did that with the ls1 fans). So hopefully when it gets to 101-103 it would only be about 10 degrees hotter. I'd settle for that any day!

Well with the stock radiator and ls1 fans in the heat of the summer I've seen it idling at 230+ that's definitely too hot for me and would keep climbing. With my set up now the highest I've seen so far idling was 201-205 in 91 degree weather... but it has been 100+ lately, still haven't got to test it in the extreme temps yet. But so far im very happy with those numbers. Cruising temps for this set up and my old set up was never really an issue, idling and stop and go traffic has always been my issue

If I don't run hot with the stock fan, I assume I shouldn't run hot with the Spal set up. Especially since I don't have any big mods or an aggressive tune.

From what I read, the stock fan is superior to efans no matter what brand efan you have. Just the stock fan clutch pulls a couple HP. I just have efans because my fwi and that's what was on it when i bought it. I don't have the stock fan clutch and shroud so i just work with what I got. But as far as quality of electric fans, the Spal fans are great! But very loud

I may do a search or start a new thread to see what the consesous is on the benefits of the efans versus the higher temps. I doubt I will be going with the 4" intake or anything requiring the efans anytime soon. Right now I stay below 200 even while sitting at a light (didn't have the Aeroforce last summer, so not sure of actual summer coolant temps), but it hadn't got above 107 outside before I left Az on vacation, so I will see next weekend. If it will not get above 215ish sitting still I would be fine. Like I said earlier, I really don't know at what temp I should be getting concerned at.

I too wanna know what temp I should worry. I have a 160 T-stat with the dual spal fans and when my truck is at idle, (Dashhawk) 187-192 same thing on the freeway...my fan/s kick on at 193...so I'm assuming I'm in the good. or If not, I'll be putting some rubber flaps to avoid the fans to constantly turn on every other minute.
