Default service stabilitrak message?

this morning I got a service stabilitrak message on my display. What causes this cause the truck seems to be driving fine. I'm also worried about bringing it in for service and having my tune erased. What would you guys do. Thanks

What are your mods?

Exceeding torque values can do it but that usually only happnes when you start making big power. When did it happen? WOT?

Here is a TSB
#08-05-25-005: Intermittent StabiliTrak Indicator Light Blinking, StabiliTrak Active Message Displayed, DTC C0196 Set (Reprogram Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)) - (Oct 1, 2008)

Subject: Intermittent StabiliTrak® Indicator Light Blinking, StabiliTrak® Active Message Displayed, DTC C0196 Set (Reprogram Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM))

Models: 2006-2007 Buick Rainier

2006-2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Models

2006-2009 GMC Envoy Models

2006-2009 Saab 9-7X

2006-2009 Isuzu Ascender Models

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This bulletin provides information on two different conditions.

Condition #1
Some customers may comment on a Service StabiliTrak® indicator light along with a Service StabiliTrak® message displayed in the DIC. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC C0196 set in history.

Condition #2
Some customers may comment on a blinking StabiliTrak® indicator light along with a StabiliTrak Active message displayed in the DIC during normal driving conditions. No DTCs will be found with this concern.

Cause
This condition may be caused by a software anomaly within the electronic brake control module (EBCM) that allowed the yaw offset to be falsely learned.

Correction
Do This
Don't Do This

Reprogram the EBCM.
Do not replace the yaw sensor or EBCM for this condition.

Important: From the controller list, select "VSES Vehicle Stability Enhancement System Control Module."

If routine diagnosis using SI does not reveal any obvious cause, reprogram the EBCM using SPS with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the Service Programming System (SPS) procedures

I'm pretty much stock other then exhaust and tune. Im worried about them relearning my PCM and losing my tune. This also turned on under reguler driving on the highway.

Just find and pull the fuse, I did that on my wifes car (not a TBSS but GM) two years ago, and have never seen it pop up again...
All is working fine.... (You could alternately disconnect the battery for a while.)

pcmforless tune. Got in the truck after work and there is no more message? Guess that's a good thing.

When the light goes out and message is gone, that means that the conditions that caused the DTCs are no longer present. The codes are however stored in history in the EBCM for quite a few ignition cycles. See if Onstar can read the code(s) and post them up.

I had the Service Stabilitrak show up and have been able to duplicate it.

If you happen to be pulling away with a fair bit of throttle/corner exit while in the process of holding the STRAK button (to disengage) you will likely get the Service Stabilitrak displayed. I have had it happen 3 times now and everytime I shut the vehicle down it resets itself.

I just figured the truck had trouble chewing on the wheel slip/yaw data while I was attempting to disengage STRAK.
