Seattle Area?
Hello there, I am looking into transferring to Seattle for work. I am wondering if anyone can give me any insight on how the city is, where should I look for housing, and does it really rain there all the time Work is located in Tacoma, so not looking to drive extremely far. Any help is greatly appreciated. I like to snowboard and enjoy outdoor activities. Was wondering how far the mountains would be from Tacoma also.

More rain fall in NYC than in Seattle.. It rains more in the winter, than it does in the summer. Summers are awesome, temps are cooler than down south or out east by far and winters are not overly cold imo.. Sking not far from Tacoma, I personally would move a bit out of Tacoma as there is alot of nicer areas to live in that area. Travel time to ski from tacoma would prob be 2ish hours I would think. Never left from there to go so hard to judge the time.
I am on my second gloss black rig up here and will say its a bit of work to keep it clean and for ocd people like me, means you wash it WAY to much in the winter. Granted I try to wash once a week to get the junk off the rig but still...

I'm in Ballard and it's awesome, but...South of Seattle (South Hill, Puyallup, Auburn) are better choices if your going to be working in Tacoma...the commute from here can be gnarly as hell on a regular basis.

If you're working in Tacoma, Ill second Caleb's statement. Dont live in Tacoma, move just outside the city limits to a nicer place.
When are you moving up here?

Right now we are trying to decide on what location we want to move to. We are torn between Denver area and Seattle. I have never been to Seattle but i have always heard the best things about it. We are looking for a adventure so thats why we are thinking of moving. I have been to Denver area a few times, just not much green there. We have about 2-3 months before we have to move. So basically have make a choice in next few weeks. I appreciate all the info guys.
