Programming New TPMS
I Installed My New 22" Chrome Replicas Today And Had To Program The New TPMS Into My SS. I Found This Info On How To Do It Yourself And Figured I'd Share It Since I Couldn't Find It On This Site.
The TPMS sensor matching process:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN with the engine off.
3. Turn the headlamp control from off to parking lamps four times within three seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the TPMS low tire warning light will begin to flash. The double horn chirp and flashing TPMS warning light indicate that the TPMS matching process has started. The TPMS warning light should continue flashing throughout the matching procedure.
4. Start with the driver’s side front tire.
5. Remove the valve cap from the valve cap stem. Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or decreasing the tire’s air pressure for 10 seconds, then stop and listen for a single horn chirp. The single horn chirp should sound within 15 seconds, confirming that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position. If you do not hear the confirming single horn chirp, you will need to start over with step number one. To let air-pressure out of a tire you can use the pointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style air pressure gage, or a key.
6. Proceed to the passenger’s side front tire, and repeat the procedure in step 5.
7. Proceed to the passenger’s side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
8. Proceed to the driver’s side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
9. After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the driver’s side rear tire, check to see if the TPMS warning light is still flashing. If yes, turn the ignition switch to LOCK to exit the sensor matching process. If the TPMS warning light is not flashing, the five minute time limit has passed and you will need to start the process over beginning with Step 1.
10. Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure level as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label.
11. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems The spare tire does not have a TPMS sensor. If you replace one of the road tires with the spare, the SERVICE TIRE MONITOR message will be displayed on the DIC screen. This message should go off once you re-install the road tire containing the TPMS sensor.

fyi..
the air pressure increase or decrease should be continued untill you hear the horn honk..
and also, the last tire you do will honk twice letting you know that the sequence has been completed...

I Drove Around All Day And They Didn't Learn Themselves. It Took Me Less Than Five Minutes To Learn Them Following These Step.

I'd buy into this 'theory' on the vehicles that don't have individual tire pressure displays (1SS TBSS). But for vehicles with individual tire displays (3SS TBSS), i.e.: F.R., F.L., R.R., R.L. in order to have the correct pressure shown for the tire in the correct location, you have to go through this procedure or use a Tech II. Otherwise, if just driving around will reset them, you'll never know which tire is really failing....other than the obvious flat.

Ok I have done this four times and its not working. The horn honks at each wheel. But I never get a flashing light. How do I know I have a bad sensor and how do I know which one?
Oh and I had my son time me and Im doing it in three minutes.

Mine didn't flash either, does the service tire monitor come back on still? are all the pressures listed on the DIC?

No it says check air pressure. When I push the button (1SS) it goes off and I just have the light. The one with the tread and !
Last summer I ran my chrome wheels with no sensors and it would say service tire monitoring system and when I pushed the button it would go off for a couple seconds and then come right back.
Then during the winter I put the stock wheels back on and everything was fine. I put new tires on my chrome wheels this spring so I decided to put the sensors from the stock wheels in the chrome wheels. One broke so I got one from the dealer.
You think if one was bad ,I wouldn't get the single beep.
Thanks
Dave

Update: I had a appointment today to get the front end aligned at the local dealer. When I started the truck and backed out of the garage I noticed the light wasn't on! So now its lowered with new tires and no more flashing lights. Life is good.

Just programmed a new sensor on mine with these instructions. Worked perfect, nice to not see that stupid SERVICE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM message everytime I start the truck. Setting the E-brake is no joke, I found out it does not work with it not set lol.

Wow!
Just put a different set of wheels on my truck. The tpms reset sequence took two minutes. Had the truck a year with that service tire monitor warning on. Thanks a lot guys.

FYI most dealerships will reprogram the tpms for free. Literally takes 30 seconds.
