Already Posted in the Lounge, But Evil But Evil May Be Moving to Seattle...
So the GF is probably going to be going to University of Washington to do her Phd studies. If she goes there, I'll be going with her, enrolling at UW also and I'll be doing my Masters studies in Aeronautical Engineering and I'll either be working in the Automobil Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Lab working with Carbon Fiber composites or or the Fuel-Gas Dynamics lab dealing with fuel composition, stoichiometry, burn rates, airflow and fluid dynamics...
So what I want to know is, who is up in that area?
What's the social scene like? The GF and I are planning a trip up to check the area out and would like some insight beforehand!
What are the vehicle smog requirements? Evil has no EVAP system and surely can't pass smog in California, but what are the requirements in Washington?
Any extra insight about the area is appreciated! Places to live near the UW campus, work situation, etc???
Steve

Going back to finish school and get a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering will only make me immensely more valuable for any aftermarket performance automotive setting! With my planned emphasis on Airflow and Fluid Dynamics along with function and structure, there isn't a company out there that wouldn't crave someone with that kind of indepth understanding and knowledge! Just knowing what "things" do to effect airflow, like superchargers and turbos is fine, but understanding fully HOW head design, valve angles, impeller design, intercooler efficiency, fuel system dynamics, etc. effects power is a completely different animal! People may find through trial and error how to make things work, but I want to be a complete expert and utter authority on these subject...thus the need for a masters program!
Who knows where I'll end up after this school thing, but KC may be on the list...I have to complete my education though, it's been eating at me for the last two years! I have a void in my life and a sense of failure because I haven't used my intelligence to it's potential...not even close!

That last paragraph displays wisdom well beyond your years, Steve.
Good luck with your relocation and since it's Seattle, don't forget your rain gear.

I just drove from seattle to Cali yesterday and that place is so damn depresing, your truck would be utterly useless with the mods it has for a good half a year. It rained almost the entire day and a half I was there, and I never once got top see the sun. You better get prescribed some anti-depression medication before you go.

Late Fall/Winter is the rainy season there and I'm used to only having good driving/racing weather 5-6 out of the year anyway! We have snow from late November through April most years and I will deal with rain over frigid cold, snow, and ice! We rarely ever get rain up here, so I'll embrace the depressing rain for at least a few years! When the weather is nice, everyone I've talked to said Seattle is gorgeous!
The SS isn't going to really be driven a whole lot anyway, mostly on racedays and long trips, she won't be daily driven up there!
I appreciate you sharing your experience and I agree I will have to prepare myself fpr many prolonged periods of rain and no sunlight!

Steve why dont u have your gf live with me for awhile being i live literally 10min from Stanford. I will make sure she lives rent free, gobbles some jj goo on a daily basis, train her well to yell "jj i love u daddy-o", lastly make her walk to School, but after a few minutes of her walking i will pick her up in my ss like i was picking up a hooker, have her blo me while i drive her, i promise to leave her in front of school with a pearl necklace.
Doesnt this sound like a plan? That way shes getting her JJeducation and your learning how to take proper videos and doing your mathematical grammatical inquisitions of the polymer cocktoyz u plan to use on yourself in the near future....
Let me know as i have a room ready for here ASAP!!!!!

Pretty cool, Steven.
I sold some equipment to Cal Tech to a Post Doc doing USAF funded grant work trying to optimize the combustion process for various fuels.
Also, I provide equipment to Honeywell for their advanced testing for the turbo systems, not to mention various dyno labs in the area.
Good luck.
