Need some help quick!
So I am active duty Air Force and right now I am out in Vegas for temporarty duty and my 06 SS is back in South Carolina. My wife told me while she was driving today, a light came on on the dash (the one in the upper right that looks like a faucet). She said the vehicle drove fine and everything, but that light came on. So when she got home, I had here try to pull the code with the Aeroforce and there were no faults. When she started the truck again (3 times) just to see if the light was still on, the light did not come back on.
The only thing I did a week ago was install the IEATSRT8 intake and IAT harness. Will this cause the light to come on and if so, what do I need to to about it. The light is off for now, but I wanted to know in case it came back on. I won't be back home for another month, so I was trying to get some info. Is this common? Please let me know guys, you have not let me down yet, thanks!

Your truck is running lean, if it's not tuned yet

It's not tuned yet. I was under the impression that I did not need a tune right away when you are using the standard intake. Am I wrong? Let me know!

A faucet?
Low on coolant? Windshield washer fluid?

My wife looked in the manual and that symbol is actually for the check engine light. There is actually two, one for the check engine and one with an arrow going through that is decreased engine power.

I ran my truck for 2 months with the IeatSRT8 intake and HSRK without a tune and did not have any issues. Check to make sure everything is connected properly.

Well I really can't check anything since I am in Vegas for another month, but I am trying to figure out why it has been fine for the last week, the check engine light comes until the vehicle is turned off, and not it won't come back on and is not storing any codes.

I got a warranty on it to take it in, but I am almost guaranteed the Chevy dealer is going to say something about the intake. As of right now, I guess I won't worry about it since the light hasn't come back on. It was just weird, but thats for the input guys, will keep you updated if it does come back!

This blows, my wife drove the truck again today to see if the light would come back on. Sure enough, the light came back on after driving like 20 miles. I don't know if it's the intake or the HSRK. I am quit positive that I don't need a tune for the standard intake.
Tried calling IEATSRT8 and left them a message last week and they did not return my call. I think I am going back to stock! The intake and HSRK is now for sale unless someone can point me in the right direction!

Ok, now I really don't know what's going on. When my wife drove the truck today, the check engine light was still on. As soon as she was driving making her way to Advanced Auto to get it scanned, the light went out before she could do anything. I have no clue what is causing this. The only thing I have done is an IEAT standard CAI / IAT Relocation / Aeroforce Interceptor and I also wiped out the throttle body.
Does anyone know if anyone of the aboved mentioned could cause this and what steps should I take. This is getting more annoying than anything seeing that the SS is still driving normal. PLEASE HELP!

The IAT Relocation Kit could not be properly plugged in all the way. You could have bent one of the pins on the harness when installing. Unplug the IAT Relocation Kit and use the sensor in the stock MAF. Your MAF could also be dirty. Try using CRC mass air flow sensor cleaner. Unless the CEL history is cleared you should be able to take the vehicle to A.A. and read the codes stored.

Its probably just detecting lean conditions on and off. Some guys can run the intake without a tune no problem, other guys with throw the check engine light with just the intake from what i remember reading. best thing you can do is call up kelly at pcmforless and get a tune sent out. not only should it solve the CEL, but it will give the truck some extra pep! dont go talking about selling stuff just because of a pesky light!

Could you clarify what you have done to the throttle body a little further... Is the MAF clocked the same as the stock setup.

So basically you are saying don't use the IAT kit and just plug the factory harness back into the MAF? When I scanned it with the aeroforce, it said no faults...

The throttle body had some oil sludge in it, so I just basically lifted the flapper and wiped all the sludge out. That is basically it. I am not sure if the MAF is in the same exact position as stock, but from the looks, I know it is close. What exact clock position should it be at?

That's cool, I will call Kelly tomorrow and see what they can do for me. With the selling, I just had spending money on a mod and it ends up possibly costing more in the future. No worries though, we will get it worked out, I just hate chasing lights especially when the vehicle is driving fine.
