Good point.. Since I'll be adding it front of the flywheel to the cooler, etc, does it have to be steel braid or can I use the nylon braid hose..? I have a bunch of -6 nylon, thats why I ask..

The Nylon Braided should be fine so long as it is good with regard to the fluids in the transmission.

Sorry. I didn't take the time to read some of the threads on this subject.
Are you hooking up the 80 to the stock TBSS transfer case?
I thought we had to use the HD transfer case like the one in the Silverado SS?
I'm making somewhere near 1000 (crank) HP and have broken 6 built transmissions. I'm shocked I haven't torn up the transfer case. Are these things a lot stronger than they look?
What's the failure rate on the transfer cases?
I'm also curious about the big difference in gear ratios (particularly 1st) and how that's going to affect things.

The TBSS has a NV120 T3 torsen diff. Not even close to the truck. The case should hold up but the front diff is the problem. I personally don't think thee will take the power once you have a 4l80. Only one way to know...
Greg at Phoenix Trans is making an adapter and a 4L80 output shaft to mate the stock T-case.
Contact him for more info. I was told it still a little bit out from being ready.

We are waiting on the final engineering drawings on all the laser cut parts. Then we will go into full production.

Will the transfer case adaptor replace the rear tailhousing completely? As in I could find a 2 WD trans, put your tailhousing/adaptor and output shaft in and bolt it up to my AWD transfer case?

Yes, but the trans has to be completely disassembled to install the shaft. I am going over to the machinists this week for the final test fit on the latest adapter.

Joe/Greg/etc...
Tim used a 3000 stall I'm assuming because of the maggie. What about a NA application with the 4L80E?? Would a 3600 be too much?

You could use a TCI 6 speed but not without their computer system and supporting electronics.

4L80E converters can be built to any stall speed the 4L70E can be had in.

The trans you have now shits better than the TCI six speed.
If you plan on any power or racing--I've heard it is not the unit to use.
I could be wrong...but this is what I have heard when inquiring about the very same thing you are getting at---a tap shift/manumatic 6 speed trans in the TBSS

Since the TCM is being swapped out. Are we gonna to have to use 2 credits in hptuner inorder to tune?? and if so could we send out tcm to you so you work your "magic" on it or is a different TCM altogether?

I'm sure if you contact HPT and explain what you are doing they will help you out.

I believe the credits are charged by the VIN. So, you could in fact have multiple sets of ECM/TCM's, and as long as they are for the same vehicle, it's only 2 credits.
By the same token, if you reflash a ECM/TCM with a different VIN on your HPTuners, it would cost you another 2 credits.
I could be wrong, but this is how I interpret it.

I don't want to use the TCI junk... was more posing a question to you guys. Think you will further advance the 4L80 to a 6 speed with your kit?

You will receive a new TCM that is preprogrammed. You will be able to install it and then read and change it with HPT. It will not cost you extra credits as the credits with HPT are charged by VIN.

FYI on the EFIlive side of things, it will cost you 1 TCM liscence since the liscences are tied to the module's electronic serial number not VIN.
