Default Resonator vs Muffler Delete

Whats the sound difference between doing a resonator delete or muffler delete. Pros/Cons?

My first mod - resonator delete. Cost - $40. I loved the way it sounded!! Woke it up a lot... Honestly I liked that sound better than my Corsa Touring. There was more drone, but that didn't really bother me.

I have muffler delete sounds good not much drone. I would recommend electric cutout sounds good open but drone. Doesn't bother me but if the ol lady gets in just close it and all good. Nice mod IMO $200 for dmh

Buddy of mine and I removed the muffler and left the resonator in the rear...sounds awesome. Slight drone, but I am used to that stuff as I had LTs, no cats, and Loudmouth on an 04 GTO before.

Resonator delete. My first mod. Then wanted a more aggressive sound and put in a 40 series flowmaster. Then had a clogged cat and gutted the cats...sound bitchin. Loud but i love it

I have the resonator deleeted, sounds great. A freind had muffler deleted. It was louder, but reminds me of an old v8 pos car that had a bad (not good) exhaust.

I bought mine with no muffler, loud and raspy, screams at WOT, added the smallest Magnaflow I could find and it deepend it up a bit and I couldn't be happier. My buddy has a resonator delete and next to mine it's quiet, but it's nice and deep and you can still hear it coming down the block but not in any way shape or form obnoxious. So basically no muffler if you want it to scream, no res for just a little deeper/louder, swap the muffler for something in the middle.

I've heard the two, side by side and I would easily say resonator delete.

That's what I have and I love it.

Then you best bet is to swap the stock muffler with a Magnaflow or try just the res delete first.

Just had a resonator delete done. Well worth the $35 as it really deepened the tone with not a lot of drone inside. It's just temporary until I get LT's and cat-back installed.
