No. We are starting it up tomorrow!
I'm finishing up everything tonight, stabbing the trans in tomorrow night and will probably fire pre-Y/exhaust/cutout fab.

I completed the stand alone trans cooler last night and decided to do a quick write up on it for anyone else interested in doing the mod. With all the recent stock radiator failures happening, I felt much better not running my transmission fluid through the stock radiator. Instead, I’m running lines directly from my transmission to the trans cooler and back.
The way I see it, this servers several purposes:
1. Bypassing the stock radiator is safer. If the radiator cracks and allows coolant and transmission fluid to mix, this can lead to transmission damage. There have been several reports of this happening.
2. Eliminating the stock hard trans lines looks better in the engine bay
3. Soft lines make installing/removing the transmission easier
4. Soft lines may keep trans fluid cooler than the stock hard lines do and the trans temps should be cooler overall, running through a stand-alone cooler
5. Radiator should keep coolant cooler without hot trans fluid running through it
Below are the parts you need and some instructions. I’m sure a lot of guys can figure this out on their own, but hopefully this will be useful for those who are less familiar with the workings of the system and not exactly sure about what they need (as I was before doing it)
I would recommend substituting the fittings and hose for your favorite brand. I prefer Earls but have heard good things about Russel too. I would not recommend the Summit stainless braided line, as it did not cut as nicely and the ends tended to fray, which caused hose end installation to be a PITA and painful. I believe the only black trans adapters are Summit house brand.
Note*** the trans fittings are NOT NPT they are NPSM!!!!
SUM-220027 Transmission Line Adapters, Aluminum, Black, Male -6 AN to 1/4 in.-18 NPSM, Pair
• $14.95 pair
• X 1
• $14.95
SUM-220690B Fitting, Hose End, Straight, -6 AN Hose to Female -6 AN, Aluminum, Black Anodized, Each
• $4.88 each
• X 2
• $9.76
SUM-220686B Fitting, Hose End, 45 Degree, -6AN Hose to Female -6AN, Aluminum, Black Anodized, Each (You can choose to use straight fittings here, as I did, but the 45* might make it a little better/cleaner. Save yourself the money and go straight fittings! ... Add 2 to quantity above)
• $13.95
• X 2
• $27.90
SUM-230615 Hose, Braided Stainless Steel, -6 AN, 15 ft. Length, Each
• $57.95
• 1
• $57.95
Part Subtotal $114.12
Installation:
1. Remove stock transmission adapters
2. Install nylon washers and liquid Teflon to new trans adapter fittings
3. Install trans adapters into transmission taking care not to warp/ruin the nylon washers. In other words, don’t overtighten!
4. Install hose ends onto hose. Use cutting wheel for a clean cut.
5. Install trans cooler in desired location with ONE hose/fitting. For the front mount cooler, I routed the hose down in front of the heat exchanger, along the bottom of the radiator, through the d/s body mount, up over the spindle/carrier housing and kind of followed the stock line routing.
6. Once hose is at desired length, cut the hose and install the hose end.
7. Install one hose end on the remaining hose, install on trans cooler, and route it alongside the other hose. Once it is at desired length, cut the hose and add your final hose fitting.
8. Use zip ties to secure the hoses to each other and to different parts of the frame/ect.
9. Rinse out transmission fluid portion of radiator and cap it, or leave it open. I plan to cap mine so that IF the radiator cracks internally, I don't spill coolant all over the place.
I used a total of 14 feet of hose for a front mount cooler on the driver side. PCM and Fast offer good coolers and mounting solutions. Perhaps they will be willing to offer just the trans cooler/mounting hardware without hose and fittings, which you can source yourself to your specific application, using this writeup.
I will add more pictures of the installation/hose routing/ect by tomorrow. Need to take some more pictures first.

Also, quick update on my engine bay... (Yes, it needs a good cleaning. That's where my best buddy Mook comes in )
I also plan to re wire everything, but for now, top priority is getting the truck running!

Just a FYI - cutting the braided hose works great with these http://www.shopping.com/Klein-63050-...le-Cutter/info

Another thing about braided line
if you use electrical tape over the area you cut it comes out cleaner.

Fire up did not happen on Thursday due to needing new o2 sensors. Last night the o2 sensors were installed, then Ypipe, LS7 throttle body, intake, ls7 MAF, Alternator, fuel rail modification (due to alternator), serpentine belts, and miscellaneous.
We loaded a base tune (from a recent 427 TBSS) along with LS7 MAF tables from Kelly@PCM4L (thank you!), and it fired right up!
Trans cooler line routing:
The engine bay still needs detailed and I plan to rewire all of this in the next couple of weeks.
Still left to do is LC32 catch can, pcm4l big 3 grounding kit, dual cut outs, magnaflow muffler, front drop struts/a arms and wheels.
We bolted up my old exhaust, which consists of a Flowmaster Delta 10. It is too loud. Magnaflow goes on soon.
First Start:

We took the truck out for a road test today. We did a few preliminary tunes, but it isn't completely dialed in yet. I should have it back in a few days after my builder puts some miles on it to make sure everything is perfect.
I installed the LC32 Catch Can on the D/S e-fan L bracket and I think it turned out great. Easy to access and looks pretty clean to me. I also snapped a pic of the recently received DMH low profile electric cutouts.
Here is an idle vid of the truck pulling out before the first test drive.
