new awd cam only record!!!!
the truck is cam only. rear seats out, pass seat out, no jack or spare or spare tire carrier. running on 17 chrome envoy wheels with 245/45/17 hoosier drag radials. I have to say thanks to Lt1z (Matt) for specing a great cam and Fast Motorsports (Brandon) for a great cam tune and finishing the loose ends i had. I had 2 back to back 12.033 times to start off the day while it was still cool out. I had a 12.083, 12.079, 12.059, 12.117 and i think the worst was a 12.18. heres one of the 12.033 time slips

Congrats Marty. That setup is just about perfect to maximize a cam only AWD and it shows in the times.

Can someone explain the benefits to the smaller wheels? Just quicker down low? What tires are recommended? I have 17" steelies but not sure if it would be ideal to put new rubber on them for the track?

the bad new is...i had to get towed form the side of the road on the way home. i am thinking it is either trans failure or front spline failure...fml!

It works in three ways.
1. The shorter diameter maximizes the trucks gearing with 4.10s to go through the traps near redline in 3rd
2. A stickier tire will 60 ft better
3. The shorter DR setup on 17s saves a good amount or rotating weight over stock 20s which leads to quicker acceleration.

I know your very intelligent person so I dont know if you were joking or not.
but, best reson is weight, tire options, and yes depending on gear ratio and shit, people change them up so lets say they dont have to do the last shift kind of thing

so, if it turns out being the front axle spline failure, should i just take it all out and convert to 2wd? Is there parts available to fix it or replace? And what needs to be done to the trans to go 2wd?
