Antenna removal - new hiding place
Tried the stock antenna laying down under the wiper cowl and could only get 2 stations near me. So I found a new place behind the plastic cover for the passenger A-pillar. Got back all of the station and only took maybe an hour.
1. Unplug the antenna from under the panel under the glove box (there is a inline plug in the wire)
2. unbolt the antenna from under the wiper cowl
3. partially remove the inner fender plastic
4. pull the wire thru the inner fender - there is a rubber grommet, I used a automotive plastic plug and some silicon to seal the hole back up
5. removed the passenger A pillar cover
6. Cut the mounting ears off the antenna base
7. place the antenna in the a pillar, Put the ball end under the headliner first - about 2 inches stick up there
8. Put the base as pictured and twist the antenna rod back on.
9. fish the wire down thru the dash, there is a small panel that can be removed for better access on the side of the dash (faces door)
10. re-install the a-pillar cover and enjoy

No luck for me. Tried it yesterday. Crappy reception. I have been searching. Has anyone figured out an easy way to use the XM antenna for the radio in our trucks

Ill try it one of these days, Im tired of looking at our huge antenna. I rarely listen to the radio, but for a quick trip to the store its a lot easier to use the radio than hassle with the iPod.

Hmm. Where did you pick yours up from? I cut the ears off my stock one so I can't go back to stock now

My new radio does all that too. There is one station I do like on FM though. I like to keep my options open
Crazy trx 450
Thanks for the info.
I found something that may allow me to use the XM Factory antenna
Had to order the parts so we will see
